The Conscious Consumer: Promoting Economic Justice Through Fair Trade
by Rose Benz Ericson

This book is about the small things each of us can do to make a difference in the world--for example, the purchase of this booklet supports education about Fair Trade. the average American household spends $8500 each year on food, clothing, and home furnishings. Shifting just 5% of this annual amount per household ($425) to purchase products from Fair Trade businesses could help us have a healthier world (more organic, less toxic, fair wages going to the producers of goods, etc). It spells out the types of people who benefit directly (producers of goods) and the types of benefits they get. It calls out the major players in Fair Trade (Fair Trade Resource Network, Fair Trade Federation, TransFair USA, United Students for Fair Trade...and many others) and explains who they are and what they contribute. It provides links for consumers to find Fair Trade products they need and want.

It's 35 pages that are chock full of information!
